Solving the problem of Integrated Utilization of Raw Materials in Metallurgy.

In view of the growing shortages and costs of metallurgical raw materials in the world, and in the USSR, too, in the long range, the problem of more rational integrated utilization of these resources is counsidered. Better utilization of scrap, recirculation of metals, fuller utilization of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy raw materials, implementation of scientific research conclusions in this respect and other measures are examined. Examples of losses of valuable metals with waste products of metallurgy are given. Problems of waste of valuable raw materials with smoke, dust and flue gases, and of environmental pollution are raised. Various investigations to improve matters are briefly described.
