Study of kinetics for complete oxidation of methanol by step transient response method. Adsorption behaviour of CH3OH, O2, CO2 and reaction response of complete oxidation of CH3OH

摘要
The adsorption behaviour of CH3OH, O2, CO2 and the reaction response of the complete oxidation of CH3OH on the surface of Pd-Ag/Al2O3 catalyst have been studied by the Step Transient Response method. The results showed that (1) CH3OH was adsorbed slowly and irreversibly. (2) O2 and CO2 were adsorbed quickly and reversibly. (3) The reaction between CH3OH and O, which, were adsorbed on catalyst surface, proceeded fast. (4) The process of adsorption of CH3OH on surface of catalyst was the slowest step for the complete oxidation of CH3OH.
