Application of Mechanical Energy Storage Devices in Autonomous Power Sources for Butt Welding Machines.

The capacity of a mobile power plant used for welding in field conditions is calculated. It is shown that by using modern high-strength materials, it is practicable to construct electric power plants with flywheels to equalize the load on the driving engine. This will make it possible to reduce the capacity of driving engines several times and to make use of stricter welding conditions.
