One of the most important problems in modern microwave electronics is to increase the power of semiconductor millimeter-band generators. This can be solved by using different constructions. However, the most widely used method is to add the powers of several diodes in a common resonator. In this case, it is possible to achieve acceptable summation, but at the price of reducing the frequency tuning range, which usually does not exceed a few percent. In this communication, we present the results of experimental investigations of the power and frequency characteristics of a two-diode Gunn generator with a quasioptical resonator.
