A wide range of solids have been tested as potential adsorbents for H//2S removal from hot gas. These solids can be divided into two main groups, i. e. , the adsorbents containing alkaline earth metals and those containing transition metals. Materials containing both the alkaline earth metals and transition metals, e. g. , manganese nodules, fly ash and red mud have been evaluated as well.
