In this paper the blowing parameters which the steelmaker must control (hot-metal composition, lime analysis, scrap selection, flow meters and weighing devices, slag analysis, heat gained by the furnace lining, distribution of heat and of coolants during blowing, repeatability, etc. ) are described.
