摘要：
An explanation of the reasons for and of the principle of operation of two-stage compressors in industrial refrigeration plants is offered. The different systems of intermediate cooling are described and compared. A relationship between the LP/HP swept volume ratio and (optimal) intermediate pressure is established. Operational limits and fields of application, in particular with respect to part-load operation and so-called cool-down procedure (starting at high evaporation temperature) are considered.
