Thick-walled pipes with small diameters are currently produced on cold rolling mills from hot-rolled billets. Additional operation such as annealing, pickling, applying the technological lubricant, pipe end preparation are required in this case. Costs are high. In connection with this, new technology and equipment have been developed for mini mill producing hot-rolled pipes with small diameters. The pipes are used in drilling. Pipes from steels of 28KhGN3M, 55S2, ShKh13, St35, 40Kh, 30KhGSA, and other grades are produced. The operating characteristics of the rolling mill have been presented. Mandrels are manufactured from R9 steel and heat-treated. Characteristics of produced pipes are given.
