NO-MOVING-PART PRESSURE REGULATOR/LOAD-ISOLATOR FLUIDIC ELEMENT.

An extremely simple jet-type element was developed that is capable of maintaining a constant pressure drop across a varying load connected to its output (e. g. , keeping a constant pressure in a room space while opening its doors). The regulating effect is based on the flat shape of the output characteristics. Also the element isolates the supply source from the effects of changes in the downstream load. Details are presented of the element geometry and information is given on how its properties were obtained by systematic variations from the starting configuration of a bistable amplifier. Applications are visualized especially in ventilation, plant protection, and safety systems.
