Specimens of a low-alloy steel have been deformed in torsion at temperatures of 850 to 1150 degree C and to a constant surface strain epsilon equals 0. 2. After deformation specimens were annealed for different periods of time before quenching the recrystallization kinetics, the recrystallized grain size, and the grain growth kinetics were determined by quantitative metallography. Simple parametric relationships describing the kinetics of static recrystallization, the grain size developed by static recrystallization, and the grain growth were derived.
