The bonding of composite resin to alloys in oral cavity is rather difficult. Traditionally, adhesion of resin to an alloy relies on mechnical retention on surface of the metal. The purpose of this study was: (1) testing tensile strength of EB composite resin bonded to Ni-Cr alloys, and (2) bonding ancillary agents capable of improving bonding between resin and alloys. Seven different fillers and bonding ancillary agents were used in this study, and four of the fillers observed by scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that bonding strength differed between different fillers, and some ancillary agents, mainly coupling agents, were effective to improve the bonding between resin and alloys. After using Sr glass filler and applying KH-570 on the metal surface, the bonding strength of EB composite resin to Ni-Cr alloy can reach 280kg/cm**2.
