摘要
The industry makes considerable use of coal and coke as well as electricity. Consumption and its historic evolution are presented. The role of the Association Technique de la Siderurgie (Iron and Steel Industry Technical Association), through its Commissions of Engineers, particularly the Energy Commission, is discussed. The various means by which energy savings have been made possible are the evolution of production facilities, rationalization of the product lines and operations specifically directed towards reducing consumption.
