摘要
Long-distance pipelines, used to transport crude oil from production fields to refineries and carry refined products from refineries to distribution terminals, require booster stations to increase pressure head. Control systems are essential to ensure that booster station operation is optimized for total pipeline economy, subject to safety and other constraints. The authors discuss some recent modern control systems that are used for protection against overpressure, cavitation and motor overloads; in control valves and valve actuators. The override control systems and supervisory control systems are also considered.
