摘要
The total and capture cross sections of **2**3**2Th, as well as their ″shape″ or energy dependences, have been measured in the energy range from 0. 006 eV up to 18 eV. The results show the recently released fifth version of the ENDF/B library to be a much better representation of the thorium data above about 0. 1 eV than the earlier versions. The measurements also indicate the importance of Bragg scattering effects which presently are not included in the ENDF/B-V file. This report is primarily intended for the use of EPRI nuclear data development projects. It should also be of interest to utility engineers responsible for evaluating the merits of the thorium cycle in LWRs.
