Nonlinear FEM analysis of the contact stress on interference fitting surfaces

Based on the Nonlinear FEA software MARC, the dynamic and static methods are put forward in this paper to simulate the contact stress on the interference fitting surfaces, the methods are applied to study the contact stress of a high speed wheelset, the results are compared with each other, and the influence of fit tolerance, friction factor and shape error is discussed in detail. The results play a referenced role in deciding the proper fit tolerance and improving manufactural technology.
