摘要
The objective of this work is to develop a method to predict the average rate of permeation of solvent in an ultrafiltration unit with polysulfone hollow fibers under conditions of laminar flow. First, the experimental rates of permeation corresponding to different rates of flow and initial concentration are compared to film theory. The conditions required to reach the limiting rate of permeation, as well as relationships for the transfer coefficient, are discussed. An empirical correlation, valid over a range of concentration for the three solutes under study (bovine albumen, dextrane, polyvinylpyrolidone) is proposed.
