摘要
The longitudinal waves in a viscoelastic rod of finite thickness are studied, taking into account the effect of radial inertia. The equation of motion used in this work is an application of the Love-Rayleigh theory for an elastic rod. An analytical solution of the transient response is obtained to examine the influence of radial motion on axial strain-time history. In addition, the attenuation and dispersion characteristics in the frequency region are discussed.
