摘要
In this paper, the damping function of a Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is modelled into power systems, which turns out to be an augmented Phillips-Heffron model and adds the UPFC into the category of FACTS controllers to be represented by a unified Phillips-Heffron model derived in [1][2] for Static Var Compensator (SVC), Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC) and Thyristor Controlled Phase Shifter (TCPS). To demonstrate the application of the model developed, an example power system is presented in the paper where a UPFC damping controller is effectively designed to increase power system oscillation stability.
