摘要
This article enumerates the outcome of detailed experimental investigations carried out to ascertain the feasibility of using flyash concrete for reinforced flexural members for the whole sectional area or for the sectional area below the predicted neutral axis. Ten test beams of size 120 mm × 200 mm × 2000 mm were designed using limit state concept. Flyash concrete of characteristic strength 15 N/mm2 was designed as per the suggestions of Robert L. Cannon. The beams were tested to destruction to ascertain their strength and serviceability properties and the values are compared with normal concrete companion beams. This study revealed that the bulk usage of flyash for reinforced flexural members with a substantial saving in cost is feasible.
