While making unceasing efforts to provide products with highest technical levels in the world through its distinguished technical innovating capabilities in the field of UHF TV transmitters also, NEC has developed high-power all solid-state UHF television transmitter series with higher maintainability, performance and reliability than those of the conventional klystron type TV transmitters. NEC has developed 30 kW, 15 kW, 10 kW, 5 kW, and 3 kW all solid-state UHF TV transmitters by introducing transistor power amplifiers with a rated output of 1. 2 kW which were developed by using the world's highest-level, high-power bipolar transistors (developed exclusively by NEC). This paper describes the design philosophy, configuration, performance, etc. , of the high-power all solid-state UHF TV transmitters developed under these circumstances.
