The mos suitable method for producing high-quality welded joints is the TIG-process with pulse bandwidth modulated current and cold wire filler. For mechanical fixed position circular seam pipe welding, three orbital welding heads have been developed. They differ with respect to their applicability, structural height, and the number of motor-controllable functions.
