Oblique impingement of a spherical liquid droplet on a solid wall

摘要
This paper uses an approach, for analyzing the dynamics of oblique impact of a droplet onto a solid surface in order to estimate the erosion-induced damage to wet-stream turbine rotors under actual, rather than ideal conditions. It is found that the pressure distribution over the contact area is nonuniform. Analytical expressions for estimating the maximum pressures in the contact spot are derived.
