An estimate is made of the effect of the transverse dimensions of the flange. The parameters of a nonlinear model of the contact and the external load on the pressure and displacements across the flange of a rectangular guide. It is shown that an increase in the ratio of height to width of the flange of a rectangular guide causes a decrease in its shape deformation. Deformation of a flange loaded by a uniform average nonlinear pressure arising from the contact deformations of the guide couple and the shape deformations of the couple do not differ from w/l>2.5.
