Ground copper ore and a KMnO//4 solution were used separately as tracers, and the residence time distribution was determined by injecting a pulse into the inlet stream. The paper proposes the kinetics for continuous flotation in a flotation column. A dispersion model, a simulation tank arrangement model, and a formula for calculating the height of the column required for attaining the designed level of recovery are suggested. If the recovery of flotation should be as high as that of plug-flow flotation, then the column height should be doubled.
