The catalyst and design changes to improve regenerator operations are described. Two new carbon monoxide oxidation catalysts featured here - W. R. Grace & Co. 's Davison PCZ and CCZ catalysts - are now in use in 19 fluid catalytic cracking units. The first commercial trial began in April 1975. The benefits of the new CO oxidation catalysts are examined and summarized in tabular form.
