摘要
A model of bacterial growth is presented that includes the concentrations of living and nonviable bacteria, the electron fluxes of the substances necessary for cell synthesis, the energy source, the electron acceptor, and the product. The use of stoichiometric and thermodynamic theories facilitates the determination of the rate constants. Bacterial growth in suspension, on inert contact material, and on absorbing material is considered.
