Theoretical and experimental study for FPV-CPC medium-temperature solar collector

A medium-temperature solar collector was proposed which takes a flat-plate collector with V-corrugated transparent insulator as the absorber and a compound parabolic concentrator as the reflector. The collector is called FPV-CPC for short. Mathematical model for thermal process was established in this paper. The thermal performance of the collector were analyzed through solving four nonlinear, simultaneous equations. The main performance indexes of the collector were tested in the medium temperature solar test installation. Results show that this collector performs well when working in the medium temperature range of 70-110°C.
