Introducing evidence-based principles into clinical education

An attempt was made to introduce all students to the principles and methodologies of evidence-based contact lens care, and provide them with the skills they need to incorporate these principles into every day practice. One-third of the students (N=22) from the class of 1999 were asked to complete a questionnaire. Seventy-nine percent of the students reported an increased frequency of Medline searches after the training session. On average the students doubled their weekly frequency of Medline searches.
