The circuit, made in microstrip line, consists of 4 cells giving phase shifts of 180 degree , 90 degree , 45 degree and 22. 5 degree respectively. Each cell consists of a 3 dB coupler loaded by 2 PIN diodes. The transmission loss is 1. 7 dB plus or minus 0. 2 dB over the operating bandwidth of 11. 7 GHz to 12. 2 GHz for a biasing current of only 5mA/ cell. Switching time between phase states is 1 ns.
