摘要
The effects on the tensile properties of austenitic stainless steels at irradiation temperatures of less than 400 degree C are reviewed. Comparison of tests on a 'reactor-grade' AISI 316 type of steel and 'ordinary production' steels revealed that irradiation hardening was reduced and ductility was improved in the 'reactor-grade' steel. Briefly discussed is the damage produced in these steels at higher irradiation temperatures. A discussion of some methods of overcoming or decreasing the effects of irradiation damage is presented.
