The vapor pressures of thulium and ytterbium were measured by the Knudsen effusion technique with mass-spectrometric analysis of the products of evaporization in the temperature range of 821-1080 and 669-782 K, respectively. Double tantalum effusion cells were employed. As a reference substance, silver was used in the experiments with Tm and magnesium in the experiments with Yb. Values of vapor pressure determined in the different runs were in good agreement. On the basis of results obtained in the present work and thermodynamic functions from the IVTANTERMO bank, the heats of sublimation at 0 K were calculated according to the second and the third laws of thermodynamics. The values found agreed within experimental error limits both for Tm and Yb. The mean results for enthalpies of sublimation at 0 K are as follows: 234.5 ± 4.0 kJ/mol for Tm and 152.0 ± 2.0 kJ/mol for Yb.
