DENSITY OF STATES IN SiP2 WITH PYRITE STRUCTURE.

An investigation is reported of the distribution of valence electrons in SiP//2 with the pyrite structure on the basis of a theoretically determined density of states n( epsilon ). The function n( epsilon ) is compared with the L//2//,//3 and K// beta x-ray emission spectra of silicon and phosphorus of SiP//2 plotted on the same scale. The results of a calculation of the electron charge density rho // DELTA // epsilon (r) in energy intervals DELTA epsilon including singularities of the n( epsilon ) curve are also given making it possible to determine the nature of the electron interaction between the components of SiP//2 in each interval DELTA epsilon .
