Experimental data on the spread of gallium over thin films of silver and the gamma phase of system Ag-Ga is analyzed and an unspread out film 10** minus **6 cm thick of liquid phase proves to be in equilibrium with the base at the end of the process. The theoretical and experimental depths of the unspread liquid are determined and possible reasons for the difference are indicated. The flow of gallium with or without kinetic resistance on the perimeter of a spreading drop is discussed.
