SiGe Microsystems (Ottawa) was founded in 1996 and originally provided silicon epitaxy services and GPS modules. In 2000, the company's name was changed to SiGe Semiconductor. Currently, the company considers itself a fabless semiconductor facility attacking wireless markets. Its strategy is trying to dominate the front end of wireless products by working with the biggest leading chipset players. Through its R&D efforts, SiGe is geared towards the complete front end for both wireless LAN and cellphones.
