Numerically controlled measuring machines are increasingly used for measurement in production processes. They can only be used economically, if the appropriate software is provided. In this respect two software problems have to be solved: first, the programs to control the machine and to evaluate the measured data; second, the task of progrmming the measuring procedures themselves. In this paper, a development is discussed which allows the measuring procedures to be formulated in a high level lanuage similar to EXAPT.
