摘要
The recent trend of energy saving is expanding the demand for self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamps as a substitute for incandescent lamps. Our initial self-ballasted fluorescent lamps, 'Light Capsule T13 and C13,' were introduced in 1980, but they provided only a low luminous output of 450 lm with a limited input power of 13W. A new 'Light Capsule' series of self-ballasted fluorescent lamps has been developed through the introduction of a double-folded discharge tube and an amalgam technique for mercury vapor pressure control. The lamps have a higher luminous output of 810 lm for the 17W type with a compact and fashionable lamp design. In addition, redesign of the components, such as choke ballast, glow-starter and housing case, has made automatic assembly possible.
