On the basis of an analysis of literature data and the results of calculations, it is established that in homologous series of semiconductors semiconductor-metal transitions are accompanied by an overlapping of the forbidden bands in the electronic spectra of the phases losing stability. It is also established that semiconductor-metal transitions are accompanied by structural transitions. Diagrams of morphotropic transitions in homologous series of materials based on S-, p-metals and d-, f-metals are constructed.
