In the present study, a momentum integral method is used to investigate the structure and surface properties of the boundary layer of a gas-particulate flow on a flat plate. The analysis for the gas phase is carried out for a fourth degree profile satisfying the compatibility condition on the surface, and for a third degree profile which does not satisfy the compatibility condition. Particulate velocity and density profiles do not satisfy the compatibility condition for the particulate flow. Results are compared with those of other investigators where the particulate flow profiles satisfy compatibility conditions on the surface. The present results give a better understanding of the structure of boundary layer flow in gas-particulate mixture than the results obtained by previous investigators.
