The resonance reactions **2**7 Al(p, gamma ) for E//p equals 922 KeV and **2**7 Al(p, p//2 gamma ) and **2**7 Al(p, a//2 gamma ) for E//p equals 1679. 5 keV are used to determine the energy spread in the proton beam of an electrostatic accelerator. The results show that use of an inductive charging system improves energy homogeneity to 1 multiplied by (times) 10**4.
