The active power converted to heat energy in the semi-infinite ferromagnetic medium due to a. c current which flows along a parallel cylindrical conductor is considered. The distribution of the active power on the boundary surface of the ferromagnetic medium is determined. It is shown that the cylinconductor can be approximately eplaced by an infinitely thin conductor which is placed along the axis of the cylindrical conductor.
