PCD wood tools. A new design concept

De Beers Industrial Diamond Division has recently been involved in the development of a new tool concept based on existing SYNDITE polycrystalline diamond (PCD) products, aimed primarily at the woodworking industry. Products envisaged include saw tips and knife blanks. Tools manufactured according to the new concept, particularly those utilising indexable knives such as cutter blocks, and multiple tips such as circular saw blades, can be produced more economically.
