Crack shielding in Ce-TZP/Al2O3 composites: Comparison of fatigue and sustained load crack growth specimens

摘要
Crack shielding intensities in in situ loaded compact tension specimens of two types of ceria-partially-stabilized zirconia/alumina composites were evaluated by laser Raman spectroscopy. Crack-tip stress fields and total crack shielding stress intensity were measured. Diminished crack shielding in the fatigue specimens were observed.
