Thermokinetic Concept as Applied to the Determination of the Limiting Stress of Cryogenic Steels by the Microhardness Method.

A series of structural materials are studied for their long-term microhardness within the range of low temperatures. Results of the study are briefly reported. Basic dependences of the indentor introduction process are presented. Initial activation energies are found to coincide for both indentor failure and introduction processes, which is promising for proximate evaluation of durability.
