The development of criteria for the final felling selection of single trees is given in the present paper. The best evaluation of the single tree potential increment from the theoretical point of view is based on finding the average increment peak. A comparison of average and current increments is the best method to find the peak because at the point where both increments are equal, the average increment has its culmination. The easiest way to detect and get more precise result is the increment calculated for the basal area. The table is given in the paper for easy use of the method. The table gives the average increment peak as the function of DBH and last 5-year average width of annual rings. The example is given in the paper to clarify all the details.
