The processes for treating primary tin ores in Bolivia are discussed, with special emphasis on the difficulties associated with the separation of low-grade, fine-grained ore. Moreover, the role of flotation in the recovery of cassiterite from fine-grained particles and the possibilites of obtaining higher grade concentrate by volatilization are discussed.
