The authors investigated the effect of vanadium (up to 6%). The amount of manganese was varied from 5 to 13% at carbon concentrations of 1. 12-1. 35%. Vanadium leads to an increase in the quantity of carbides and increases the effect of dispersion hardening of austenite. Aging is particularly effective for steels with a high concentration of manganese (10-13%) and vanadium ( greater than 4%).
