Most of the discussion about water-based hydraulic fluids has centered on the fluids themselves; little has been said about how the fluids affect hardware and system design. Experience with automotive production machinery has provided some guidelines as to which components are compatible with water-based fluids and the system modifications necessary to ensure trouble-free operation.
