The various methods of carrying out corrosion tests on metals are reviewed. It is shown that the dry corrosion test, a test consisting of an alternation of salt spray cycles and drying cycles, is economical, yields realistic, reproducible results in a short time, and can be carried out in a standardized testing chamber.
