Fault location on radial distribution systems using wavelets

摘要
Wavelet transform and travelling wave theory are applied to transient voltage waveforms that contain both high frequency oscillation and localized impulse. The superimposed localized impulse is decomposed from voltage waveforms and the time taken for the localized impulse to reach substation busbars and customer terminals are used to determine the location of the fault. Theoretical analysis and EMTP/ATP simulation results show that the proposed technique is efficient and easy to implement.
