SIMULATION AND TESTING USING SDL METHODOLOGY.

The author provides a description of a tool named APF that has two purposes: to simulate systems described by SDL diagrams and to test actual systems physically connected to APF. A user has the possibility of defining SDL diagrams in the SDL-PR form (strings of characters) or in the SDL-GR form (in a graphic form) using as input terminal a color VCU, APF interprets the defined diagrams and runs the simulation or the test. In either case the results can be seen on the VDU, displaying parts of the original drawing and, if this is specified, the results can also be stored on files for documentation, comparison of releases, maintenance, etc.
